Concordia Language Villages in Minnesota offer summer language camps. District 15 offers scholarships to help qualified applicants attend one of the Scandinavian Language camps: Danish: Skogsøen - Finnish: Salolampi - Norwegian: Skogfjorden - Swedish: Sjölunden.

Glenn T. Seaborg was of Swedish descent and a Nobel-prize winner in Chemistry in 1951. Glenn T. Seaborg Lodge No. 719 in Laguna Hills is named after him.

Bishop Hill was founded in 1846 by Swedish religious dissenters. It is now a museum and designated historic site and houses the Vasa National Archives.
